Typing and Writing Course Details
Writing is the representation of language in a textual medium through the use of
a set of signs or symbols (known as a writing system). It is distinguished from
illustration, such as cave drawing and painting, and the recording of language via
a non-textual medium such as magnetic tape audio whereas Typing is the process of
inputting text into a device, such as a typewriter, cell phone, computer, or a calculator,
by pressing keys on a keyboard. It can be distinguished from other means of input,
such as the use of pointing devices like the computer mouse, and text input via
speech recognition. Now let’s have a look at the typing and
writing course in detail.
History
An Eurasia writing began as a consequence of the burgeoning
needs of accounting. Around the 4th millennium BC, the complexity of trade and administration
outgrew the power of memory, and writing became a more dependable method of recording
and presenting transactions in a permanent form (Robinson, 2003, p. 36). In Mesoamerica
writing may have evolved through calendric and a political necessity for recording
historical events.
Christopher Latham Sholes(1819-1890) invented the first practical modern typewriter,
patented in 1868. Before the computer, the typewriter may have been the most significant
everyday business tool. Christopher Latham Sholes and his colleagues, Carlos Glidden
and Samuel Soulé, invented the first practical typewriting machine in 1866. Five
years, dozens of experiments, and two patents later, Sholes and his associates produced
an improved model similar to today's typewriters.

Top Scope of typing course
In today’s society, typing is the key to getting a great job. Most jobs require
some degree of computer work, and knowing how to type quickly and efficiently will
make you more marketable than your fellow worker who simply "finger pecks" at the
keyboard. You can honestly state, that learning to type is an investment in your
career future. Many public schools have embraced the importance of typing and they
are encouraging children to schedule a time set aside for daily typing practice.
Teaching children the correct methods of typing while they are young is an important
step to ensuring their future success. No one could have imagined fifty years ago,
how important the Internet would be to our daily lives. Today, living without a
computer, or not knowing how to navigate the World Wide Web, sets you at an automatic
disadvantage. It is very important that children learn how to type, use Email, use
reference tools on the Internet, and handle office programs. There are many typing
games that may be purchased or found for free on the Internet that will encourage
children with their daily typing practice. Many of these typing games offer interactive
cartoon tutors, rewards based on levels, and lots of audio to keep children focused.
Using one of these programs is a great way to encourage your child’s daily typing
practice while creating an atmosphere that is fun. Your child won’t even know that
they are actually "working" at a new skill while playing these games.
Adults need daily typing practice as well. To remain marketable, enhance your resume,
and develop your efficiency with your career you should improve your typing speed
and accuracy. Adults will find that there are many great programs that are available
for free on the Internet that are geared to adult learners that have very limited
typing skills. Even adults show great success when playing typing games. Games are
a great way to work on skills, they completely remove the element of stress and
learning takes place in a fun environment. By playing typing games, you will discover
that your daily typing practice becomes effortless. For adults who already have
a busy schedule, working full time, raising children, and running a household.
The more you type and use your new skills, you will discover that instant messaging,
E-mail, and writing word documents will become simpler, quicker, and error-free.
Scope of writing course
Writing helps you express yourself. Writing prepares you for school and employment
(both of which in most cases require a lot of it). Writing is how much of the world
communicates. If you don't write, you cut yourself off from a large community. Writing
can be a great tool to help you know more about the way you think... writing can
solidify ideas and thoughts, and allow you to reflect on them better than if the
ideas remained evolving in your head. Writing is one of the ways that we translate
our thoughts for other people. Writing assists you with other language tasks as
well... writing helps you learn how to form language, how to spell, how to... put
together a plot. You learn how to make a logical argument, or how to persuade, mainly
through writing. Speaking can help you learn those things as well, but it is easier
to self-examine and evaluate how to improve when you have something concrete in
front of you, and can revise.

are being replaced by audio typists. These typists use dictating machines to produce
written reports of the spoken word. Dictaphone typists are an asset for a company
because of the time that is saved. Interviews, negotiations and meetings can be
taped and later be transcribed by the audio typist.
Typists are progressively making use of word processors, because it is the quickest
and most effective way to typewritten communication. By using a computer loaded
with a word processing programme, typists can type and alter information before the
final printout of the document is made and saved on disks for future use.

to make precise copies of the given document. General typists are allowed to make
small changes and to improve the appearance of the document. The kind of material
typists handle depends on the place where they work. Typists can for instance work
with legal documents, company documents, building industry documents, final accounts,
medical accounts, diagrams and tables, contracts, correspondence or manuscripts.
Some typists work in a typing pool. The supervisor gives the incoming work to the
typists . In some cases typists act as assistants
for private secretaries or they can work for an individual or for a whole department.
In the latter case it is their responsibility to organize the work and to determine
priorities.
Typists do their work in spacious and well equipped offices. Typing machines vary
according to the nature of the typist's work. A person with a disability can also
work as a typist. In such cases the equipment is adjusted to the person's disabilities
who want to follow this career must be able to adapt to their work situation.

sector. Promotion depends on work performance, enthusiasm, experience and training. Typists
