The department of neurology under the Institute of Medical
Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, is going to organise one-day national symposium
on headache on Sunday (September 4).
The programme would focus on different forms of headaches and their treatment and
management available in the country. Apart from highlighting pathophysiology of
migraine and acute management of chronic daily headache, childhood headache and
psychogenic headache would be also covered on the occasion. A panel discussion on
chronic daily headache would be also held to mark the culmination of the one-day
programme, said Deepika Joshi, organising chairman, at a press conference on Friday.
A number of senior neurologists and psychiatrists across the country including Vinay
Goel from AIIMS, New Delhi, Neera Chaudhary of GB Pant Hospital, New Delhi, Hardeep
Singh Malhotra from KGMU, Lucknow along with senior experts from BHU are likely
to attend the symposium. TM Mohapatra, director, IMS, BHU would inaugurate the programme.
