Now know why a good night’s sleep is important before an exam
Sleep is very important for your physical as well as mental well-being. Students
usually have a question in their minds – ‘How much should I sleep before exams?’
You should at least have 6-8 hours of undisturbed sleep every night. Lack of sleep
impairs memory and alertness; higher cognitive functions like reasoning and logic
are affected adversely; it can also lead to nervousness & poor levels of concentration.
It results in mental slowing and it affects your efficiency.
Sleep varies from person to person, but one should sleep for at least four-five
hours daily. There are long sleepers and short sleepers; some manage with five,
others with eight to nine hours.
On the previous day of the exam, you must sleep for six to eight hours.
Don’t use coffee, tea, chocolates,
colas, drugs and syrups to keep you awake.
