Commercial Pilot Training Course, Career Detail
Pilot training teaches the process of flying
an aircraft in the air with proper direction and control. It also teaches the students
to understand the weather forecasts. Besides academic qualifications, a commercial
pilot should have a sound mind in a healthy body, lot of courage, determination
and self-confidence. This profession, comprising of captain and co-pilots constitute
the highly rated and one of the most adventurous career. The profession demands
a lot of time, dedication, patience, sacrifice.
Eligibility:
To become a commercial pilot, you must first obtain Student’s Pilot License (SPL).
At the second stage of commercial pilot training course,
the student must obtain Private Pilot License (PPL) and at successful completion
of the course they can obtain the Commercial Pilots License (CPL).
In India, basic qualification for pilot training
is completion of HSC with 50% marks in Physics and Maths. Age must be minimum 16
years to be eligible for PPL & 17 for CPL. Candidates have to take an entrance exam
conducted by institutes. Applications for this test have to be sent to the Director
General of Civil Aviation.
Career Options:
The employment opportunities in this profession are available in government and
private airlines (domestic & international), cargo planes, charter planes, private
planes. They also have scope in corporate sector where companies/high profile businessmen
have their own private aircraft. After obtaining CPL you can become a pilot or first
officer on board.

The demand for skilled, qualified commercial trained pilots
is ever present throughout the world. Today, with the corporates entering this sector,
this profession has become an even more exciting career option. It is estimated
that there would be increase in the job position in the near future to improve the
existing ratio.
