Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) 2011
R.E.C Rourkela was the first one to conduct the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)
for the candidates of the state quota of Orissa in 1979. In 1979 there were only
two engineering colleges in Orissa namely R.E.C Rourkela and U.C.E., Burla. In later
years CET Bhubaneswar, IGIT Sarang and Institute of Textile Technology, Choudwar
also got involved by 1994, JEE covered candidates for MBBS/ BDS courses in S.C.B
Medical College, Cuttack, M.K.C.G. Medical College, Berhampur and V.S.S Medical
College, Burla. Now at present lots of institutes/ colleges that offer courses in
various disciplines including Engineering, Technology, Architecture, MBBS/ BDS,
Pharmacy, MBA, MCA and Hotel Management & Catering Technology has joined the selection
process via JEE for the state of Orissa.
Orissa holds their entrance exam in May month. JEE Entrance
Exam pattern consists of General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude test
and test on English. This entrance exam has the negative marking system. For each
correct answer you will be rewarded with four marks and for one incorrect answer
one mark will be deducted. If you want to crack the exam then you must strong your
weak points and improve the exam sections with the help of

news channels so from that your fluency of English will be good. Take one piece
of paper and while reading newspapers or articles try to note your thoughts or points
in your own language. You will understand English Better and would be able to solve
questions easily.
For cracking the General Awareness Section you have to keep yourself updated. You
must read the newspapers, general knowledge books and watch news channels. So you
will be aware of the knowledge of current affairs.
