Seven firms including MNCs are participating in the process for the on and off campus
recruitment. The placement is scheduled for Feb 1st to 10th and includes students
of FOPP.
CEPT University has set up an online recruitment system for
the companies that will participate in the placement of about 120 students from
its seven disciplines this year. The university has developed the system following
demand of the companies that wanted to conduct recruitment interviews on-line to
save time and other resources. Several firms, including MNCs, such as Gujarat International
Finance Tech City (GIFT), CRISIL, ATTKINS GLobal, Egies, Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL),
ICRA-IMaCs, Liases, Unity Infrastructure, Water Sanitation Performance Assessment
(PAS) among others are participating in the process for the on and off campus recruitment.
The placement is scheduled for February 1st to 10th and includes students of Faculty
of Planning and Public Policy (FOPP).
FOPP placement chair Saswat Bandyopadhyay
said, “Unlike past years, some companies have shown preference to conducting selection
process through distance conference modes like telephone, video or Skype”.
“As many
as seven companies specifically demanded interviews of the students through video
link. This will help companies from abroad and other states to get in touch with
the students in real time and even further round of interviews can be arranged easily”,
Prof Bandyopadhyay said. Students appearing for the interviews are from seven disciplines
Urban and Regional Planning, Environment Planning, Housing Planning, Infrastructure
Planning, Industrial Area Planning Management and Urban Transport Planning Management.
REAL ESTATE FIRMS QUEUE:
Companies like GIFT, JLL, a global real estate
consultancy, Mumbai-based Unity Infrastructure, which is mainly into construction
and allied activities, transportation, water supply and irrigation, are among those
that are eyeing Cept for recruitment. A senior GIFT official said: Urban infrastructure,
environment and planning are at the core of any development and Cept offers such
talent. Hence, we are looking for recruitment from this university, too. Local Director
at JLL Nirav Kothary said: Cept is one place where real estate companies and consultancies
like us find students whom we don’t have to groom as they learn exactly what we
want them to do in the job.
