Several aspiring fashion designers from the state appeared
for the admission tests to National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), which
was held on 12th Sunday at Ahmedabad and Vadodara. Around 450 students appeared
for the entrance test held at H.K. Arts College. The test was conducted to fill 2,180
seats, including 477 seats, for various Masters programme. Students found the General
Aptitude Test (GAT) paper easy but a little lengthy compared to last few years.
I thought the paper would be tough but that was not the case. Instead, it was lengthy,
said Aditi Manhas from Gandhinagar. GAT included language, maths and general awareness
while Creative Aptitude Test (CAT) and Managerial Aptitude Test (MAT) tested candidate’s
creative and managerial ability respectively. I had missed the NID entrance exam.
But this time, I was completely prepared. The questions were easy but a bit time
consuming, said Anisha Kumari, who appeared for the test along with her twin sister,
Akanksha. The result will be declared on March 30.
