NCHMCT Hotel Management JEE 2012 - Overview
National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT) is an autonomous
body under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The Council centrally regulates
academics for B.Sc. Hospitality & Hotel Administration and eleven other structured
courses of study that are imparted at the existing 21 Central Institutes of Hotel
Management, 12 State Government Institutes of Hotel Management and 18 Private Institutes
of Hotel Management affiliated with NCHMCT. Six Food Craft Institutes located in
different parts of the country offer Diploma Programmes in specific operational
areas. All Institutes follow standardized course curricula prescribed by the Council
for different professional Programmes.
Quality of education and training provided by the Institutes help students to emerge
as professionally qualified personnel for hospitality and other allied service sectors.
The Council has till date trained more than 53,000 Hospitality Managers, Executives
and other operational personnel. Its alumni from affiliated Institutes occupy key
positions in hospitality industry as well as in teaching institutions both in India
and abroad.
National Council for Hotel Management shall hold
all India Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) on
28 April 2012 (4th Saturday) 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. for admission to 1st Year of
3-Year B.Sc. in Hospitality & Hotel Administration in the affiliated Institute of
Hotel Management for the 2012-13 academic session.

Colleges Under JEE:
Eligibility Criteria:
Minimum qualification for admission is a pass in the examination of 10+2 system
of Senior Secondary Education or its equivalent with English as one of the compulsory
subject from recognized Board/ Universities. Candidates appearing in 10+2 OR equivalent
examination in 2012 can also appear in JEE-2012 on provisional basis.
Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in Hotel Management
JEE 2012 on provisional basis.
Provisional admission will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying
examination (10+2 or its equivalent) is not submitted at the time of counselling
or at the time of admission or latest by 30-09-2012.
Age: For candidates from General and OBC categories,
upper age limit is 22 years as on 01.07.2012. Candidates born on or after July 01,
1990 are eligible. In the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates,
upper age limit is 25 years as on 01.07.2012. That is SC/ST candidates born on or
after July 01, 1987 are eligible. Upper age limit for Physically Challenged candidates
shall be reckoned as per the category he/she belongs to i.e. General/SC/ST/OBC.
Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/Pre-University Certificate
shall be the authentic proof that will be accepted. At the time of counselling,
this certificate must be produced in original as a proof of age, failing which the
candidate will not be considered for counselling/admission.
How to Apply for NCHMCT JEE?
Candidates are required to pay a fee of
900/- for General/OBC categories and
450/- for SC/ST/PD categories.

application. You are to exercise sufficient care while furnishing the details.
- After filling the form correctly, recheck before submitting online as no editing
is possible after submission.
- An auto-generated Application Number is allotted to you on successful submission
of online Application form and will appear on print version of the Application Form
& Take a print out.
- After taking the print out, affix your passport size photograph & put your signature
in the space provided on the print version of application.
- For future reference, keep photocopy of this application form.

Question Paper will be bilingual i.e. in English and Hindi (except for English Language
component).
Marking Scheme for JEE Written Test:
Each correct answer under Numerical Ability & Scientific Aptitude, Reasoning & Logical
Deduction, General Knowledge & Current Affairs and English Language component carry
one mark. For any wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted. Graded mark(s) will
be awarded under Aptitude for Service Sector component i.e. 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 & 1.00.
The most appropriate answer carries one mark.
