MICAT Paper Pattern

MICAT entrance Exam is conducted by Mudra Institute of Communication, Ahmedabad (MICA).
Before starting your Preparations for MICAT Entrance Exam it is essential that all MICA aspirants should know what MICAT paper consists of and what type of questions are asked in MICAT. So here’s MICAT paper pattern for MICA aspirants.
It basically consists of three parts. Part I consists of Reasoning, General Awareness, Verbal Ability, and Quantitative Ability/LRDI. Part II consists of Psychometric Test and Part III consists of Creative Ability Test.

Complete analysis of MICAT Exam paper pattern:

  • Part I: Reasoning, General Awareness, Verbal Ability, and Quantitative Ability/LRDI: These are basic components of all the MBA entrance exams. Like all the other exams, for MICAT too, you need ample practice to crack this area. The Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning section was on the side of a higher difficulty level last year. The topics which you should prepare are Arithmetic, Permutation & Combination, probability, set theory, integral calculus etc.
The Reasoning questions are mainly based on Data Sufficiency and Visual Reasoning. The difficulty level is generally moderate.
The Verbal Ability questions have Reading Comprehension, Sentence Correction, Sentence Completion, Sentence Assumption and Fill in the Blanks.
The questions on General Awareness can be on anything. Last year, the areas from which most of the questions appeared were advertising, media, marketing, films and general global awareness. So a basic knowledge on media and communication field will help you in this area.
  • Part II: The Psychometric Test: The Psychometric Test consists of three set of questions. There are no correct or incorrect answers to these questions. If we look at last year’s question paper, first set of questions had 30 statements, out of which one had to pick 10, describing one’s personality traits without ranking them.
The second set of questions asked one to choose from a set of two arguments and also had to rate them from one to six based on their agreement with the arguments.
In the third set of questions, one had to rank the various responses under given situations on a scale of one to six (rating 1 imply highest priority and rating 6 implies lowest priority).
  • Part III: Creative Writing: This section tests your creative and communicating abilities. The questions were based on essay writing, story writing and formation of words. For essay writing, you should either write for the motion or against the motion. Not taking a stand would not fetch you marks.
For story writing, you will be given a picture and on the basis of that you will have to write a story.
We hope this analysis of MICAT Paper Pattern will help you to achieve your Goal.
