Launched MiDOCS - an online doctoral thesis facilitation service in the communication
discipline.
With an aim to help students get opinions from field experts,
Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) has launched MiDOCS - an online
doctoral thesis facilitation service in the communication discipline.
The service has been designed keeping in mind M.Phil and Ph.D students, aiming to
help them complete their doctoral thesis. It will recognise the role and importance
of the research supervisor and assist students with consultations, support and feedback.
The service will also help students choose and review a subject for research and
find further information. The students will be able to understand and frame questions
and hypothesis and be trained in the methodology to write dissertations.
The facility will be available in seven different categories including topic and
title, sources of information, review of literature, research methodology, data
analysis and interpretation, dissertation writing and library facilitation. The
information will be made available online by clicking on the relevant categories.
"The idea is to tap a larger section of intellectuals and experts in society. At
times, the students are in a quandary and this platform will help them clarify their
doubts and reach out to more people," explained Prof Pradeep Krishnatray, dean,
research.
With MICA having an online library, the students who need reference material will
also be able to get help from a wide variety of books. "We have an exhaustive list
and students can write to us and we will provide them with library help and other
resource material," he added. The service, which is free of cost, is open to all
students. "Many have shown interest and we would welcome questions from students
needing help from anywhere in the country or even abroad," he said.
