MHT CET Engineering Exam - Overview:
MHT-CET Engineering entrance exam is conducted for admission to all private, Government,
Aided & Unaided engineering universities/colleges in Maharashtra for Undergraduate
Engineering courses. MHT-CET Engineering Entrance Exam is the most important Entrance
Exam for getting admission in Maharashtra Engineering Colleges. For selection to
Engineering and Pharmacy courses Director, Technical Education, Mumbai will be the
Competent Authority.
For which Colleges/Courses/State:
MHT-CET is conducted for all degree courses in Health Science, BVSc and AH, Engineering and Pharmacy courses in Maharashtra State. All Engineering colleges in Maharashtra admit students through MHT-CET Score.
MHT CET Eligibility Criteria
Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed/appeared* the HSC
(Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary
Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry
and Mathematics with minimum 50% for Open Categories and minimum 45% marks for Backward
Class Categories.
Other eligibility criteria for specialized
branches of Engineering:
Candidates seeking admission to some special courses or under some special provisions
have to fulfill the following additional eligibility criteria.
- Admission to Bio-Medical / Bio-tech Engineering course:
Candidates seeking admission to Biomedical/Bio-Tech Engineering course should have
passed in the subject of Biology in the qualifying examination.
- Admission to Mining Engineering course:
Female candidates are not eligible for admission to Mining Engineering course.
- Admission to Marine Engineering Course in Padm. Vasantdada
Patil Pratishtan’s College of Engineering, Sion, Mumbai:
Candidates aspiring to take admission to Marine Engineering Course in the following
institute should directly contact the Principal of the college for eligibility criteria
(Educational Qualification and Entrance Test) and admission process.
How to Apply?
A single MHT CET engineering entrance exam 2012 application form and three information
Brochures for MHT CET 2012 (Health Science, Engineering and Pharmacy) will be
available at Junior College/ High School where candidate has studied for HSC (12th Std examination). Prescribed MHT CET 2012 application forms as per the requirement
shall be obtained by Head Master/ Principal of the college from the Principal/
Dean of the notified college in the district as shown in given below.
The cost of the Application Form along with the three information brochures of MHT-CET-2012
and Examination fee is Rs. 700/- for open category and all Outside Maharashtra candidates
and Rs. 500/- for reserve category candidates (belonging to Maharashtra State Only).
This amount is not refundable.
The candidates from Outside Maharashtra (OMS) can purchase application form and
Information brochure(s) of MHT-CET 2012 from any Divisional Authority office as
mentioned in Annexure-A by submitting Demand Draft of Rs. 700/- drawn in favor of
"Competent Authority, MH-CET, Mumbai" payable at Mumbai, drawn on any Scheduled
Commercial Bank.
