Maharashtra Architecture Common Entrance Test
What is it?
Government of Maharashtra conducts a Common Entrance Test for candidates seeking
admission to Architecture to degree courses in Architecture.
The
MAH-AR-CET would be administered by the Competent Authority, on its
own or in collaboration with or through a professional agency with proven record
of its competence and experience in such process of personnel selection through
competitive examinations.

- Five year degree course in Architecture(B.Arch)
Colleges you can apply for:
- Approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Council of Architecture,
New Delhi
- Recognized by the Government of Maharashtra
- Affiliated to any one of the
ten Non Agricultural/Non Technological Universities in the State of Maharashtra
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed/appeared the HSC (10+2
level) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary
Education or its equivalent examination with subject Mathematics and secured minimum
50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in aggregate in case of candidates of Backward
class categories belonging to Maharashtra state only).
OR
Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed/appeared the 10+3
Diploma (any stream) examination recognized by
AICTE /Central/State Government or its
equivalent examination and secured minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in
aggregate in case of candidates of Backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra
state only).

Exam Pattern
The
MAH-AR-CET 2012 will consist of one common question paper of maximum
200 marks in the subjects of Aesthetic Sensitivity and Drawing to test the aptitude
of the candidate for architecture degree course with weightage as follows:

Candidates will appear for MAH-AR-CET 2012 written examination at the designated
venue and time mentioned in the Hall Ticket. The cities in which MAH-AR-CET is conducted
are designated as centers. Each center will have several venues depending upon the
number of candidates due to appear at that center. A candidate applying for the
MAH-AR-CET 2012 will have the freedom to choose his/her center but shall not have
freedom to choose the venue.
Syllabus
Aesthetic Sensitivity:
Questions will be based on visualization, imagination & creativity regarding two/three
dimensional objects & its sides, combination & composition of two/three dimensional
elements/ objects, understanding scale & proportions, imaginative comprehension
and expression, Architectural awareness etc.
Drawing:
Aptitude of the candidate shall be judged for quality of sketching, sense of scale
and proportion, observation power regarding proportionate reproduction of given
drawing, colouring, memory drawing, theme sketching, perspective drawing etc.
