Colleges that have a lower cut-off compared to the student's expected/ secured marks.
For example:
If you enter 120 marks then the colleges enlisted in yellow band are those which have a cut-off mark less than the entered marks e.g. here it is 120. These colleges are the safest choice for you to apply.

Note: The cut-off engine contains cut-off marks for three-four years. On selecting a particular year from the drop down menu, the cut-off engine will show the cut-off marks of that respective year. For example if you select the year 2009, then the cut-off engine will show the cut-off mark of the year 2009.

Colleges that have the same cut-off marks as the student's expected/ secured marks.
For example:
If you enter 120 marks then the colleges enlisted in the green band are those which have a cut-off marks similar to the entered marks e.g. here it is 120. These will be your first choice as they will have cut-off marks almost equal to your cut-off marks.

Note: The cut-off engine contains cut-off marks for three-four years. On selecting a particular year from the drop down menu, the cut-off engine will show the cut-off marks of that respective year. For example if you select the year 2009, then the cut-off engine will show the cut-off mark of the year 2009.

Colleges that have a higher cut-off marks than the student's expected/ secured marks.
For example:
If you enter 120 marks then the colleges enlisted in the red band are those which have a cut-off marks higher than the entered marks e.g. here it is 120. You can also try for these colleges.

Home University is a University for students staying in the districts coming under that respective university.
For example:
If you are staying in Ahmednagar or Nashik, then your home university will be Pune University. If you come from Nandurbar or Jalgaon your home University will be North Maharashtra University etc.

This is for the students who stay in the districts that do not come under that particular University.
For example:
a student belonging to Kolhapur willing to obtain admission in Mumbai University will come under Other than Home category because Kolhapur district comes under Shivaji University which is his home university.

Note: For other than Maharashtra students (OMS). Students out of Maharashtra will directly come under Other than Home category.
