Maharashtra MCA Common Entrance Exam Detail
MAH MCA CET 2012 - Overview:
Government of Maharashtra conducts a Common Entrance Test for candidates seeking
admission to first year of three year full time regular post graduate degree course
in Master of Computer Applications (MCA). Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for MCA
Course (MAH MCA CET 2012) is conducted by the Competent Authority for the academic
year 2012-13.
Institutes which qualify for the admission process:
- Approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
- Recognized by the Government of Maharashtra.
- Affiliated to any one of the ten Non Agricultural / Non Technological Universities
in Maharashtra State.
Courses Offered:
- MCA - Master of Computer application of three years full time degree course.
Eligibility Criteria:
Minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of candidates
of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only) in any bachelor’s
degree awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central
or state legislature in India.
OR
Have appeared for the final year examination of any bachelor’s degree.
Hoe to Apply?
Those who wish to enroll for MCET can collect a "MAH MCA CET 2012 Kit" and Information
Brochure from designated post offices across the country. All the important notifications
are available on the official website. Candidates belonging to general category
from Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir migrants and OMS can purchase their form by
paying Rs. 750/-. Those belonging to reserved category and are from Maharashtra
have to pay Rs. 550/-.Migrants from Jammu and Kashmir who wish to apply for OMS
have to pay Rs. 1500/-. They are required to purchase 2 kits. But they should submit
only one application form.

Exam Pattern / Syllabus:
The Maharashtra MCA Entrance exam is divided into two parts of 1 hour each.
1. General Aptitude
General Aptitude Paper consists of questions from the following:
- Logical reasoning
- Quantitative reasoning
- Mathematics
- Vocabulary
- English comprehension
- Verbal Ability
2. Computer Awareness
Negative Marking:
1 Mark will get deducted for each wrong answer and candidates can earn 4 marks for
each correct answer.
