On Teachers Day, students played quizmasters as professors answered questions on
GK, technical subjects and college history
In an attempt to make Teachers Day memorable for their professors,
a group of students of L D College of Engineering organised a quiz competition for
them.
The quiz was suggested by Parth Joshi, a student of civil engineering. A group of
friends framed 40 questions in four different categories, namely technical subjects,
current affairs, general knowledge and college history. The professors were randomly
put into groups of five and at the end of each round the least scoring group was
eliminated. Each round had questions from a single category.
Parth Joshi told Mirror, We wanted to make their celebrations unique so we came
up with this idea. We hope that they will remember this day. The quiz was supposed
to be fun as well as exciting for both the professors and the audience. I received
ample help from Avani, Prashant, Dimple and Puja to draw the questions. It was a
great experience for us as well.
The students as they have been doing over the years taught four class hours in the
morning. The quiz competition was part of the celebrations that were held in the
college hall. The celebrations included a poem recital and a few speeches by students
as well.
One of the professors said, this round made all of us so nervous that we were sweating
profusely. None of us wanted to answer the questions wrong and embarrass ourselves
in front of our students. Also, the questions had negative marking so it made the
mood in the hall very tense. But it was a lot of fun and we enjoyed ourselves.
Principal M. N. Patel said, it was a memorable day for me. This quiz was very interesting
and a lot of hard work went into preparing these questions. The questions posed
were not picked at random. They were intelligent and logical.
