Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) Entrance Exam 2012
KEAM 2012 Medical Entrance Exam, short for Kerala
Engineering Agricultural Medical is an entrance examination series for admissions
to various professional degree courses like Medical MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, BSMS
and many other courses in the state of Kerala, India. It is conducted by the Office
of the Commissioner of Entrance Exams run by the Government of Kerala.
Kerala Medical entrance test is probably the only entrance test series
in India that is conducted by a State Government directly. In all other states,
entrance examinations are conducted by a state run university. This is because in
Kerala, there are various state run universities.
Course Offered:
MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, BSMS.
Eligibility Criteria:
Only those candidates who secure 50% marks in the Medical Entrance Examination (Paper
I and II taken together) will be considered for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses. Candidates
belonging to
SC/ ST/ SEBC will be considered for admission to these courses only
if they have scored a minimum of 40% marks in the KEAM 2012
Medical Entrance Exam (Paper I and II taken together). Candidates with
Locomotory disability of lower limbs between 40% to 70% will be consider for admission
to MBBS course only if they have scored a minimum of 45% marks in the Medical Entrance
Examination (Paper I and Paper II taken together).
How to apply?
- KEAM 2012 Medical Entrance Exam application forms and Prospectus can be obtained
from selected Post Offices in Kerala and outside the State (to be notified later),
on payment of the prescribed fee
700/- (for GENERAL) and
350/- (OBC).
- Candidates can remit the application fee for
700/-in any of the branches of State Bank of Travancore (SBT) using the chalan,
candidates who do not have access to State Bank of Travancore (SBT) can attach a
Demand Draft for
700/- drawn on a Nationalized Bank in favor of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations
payable at Thiruvananthapuram.
- The filled in application forms and all required certificates/ documents along with
the demand draft should be send to ‘the commissioner for entrance examinations,
housing board buildings, santhi nagar, thiruvananthapuram - 695 001.

Reservation of seats:
The seats reserved under All India Quota for MBBS and BDS Courses in Govt. Medical/Dental
Colleges will be allotted by the Director General of Health Services, New Delhi,
on the basis of the rank obtained in the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance
Examination conducted by the CBSE.
