Karnataka CET 2012 - Overview
The Karnataka Medical CET 2012 is conducted for
the purpose of determining the eligibility/ merit, for admission of Karnataka candidates
to the First year or First semester of full time courses in Medical, Dental, Ayurveda,
Unani, Homoeopathy, Naturopathy & Yoga, Engineering, Technology and Architecture
courses, in institutions within the State of Karnataka.

Karnataka Medical CET 2012 Eligibility :
The candidate should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC/12th std or equivalent examination
with Physics Chemistry and Biology as optional subject and as English as one of
the languages of study and have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in PCB group
and must have obtained 50% marks in PCB group in the common
entrance test. In case of candidates belonging to schedule castes, schedule
tribes or other backward classes the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility
will be 40% of marks in aggregate in PCB group.
How to Apply for Karnataka Common Entrance Test for Medical ?
Brochure cum application form will be supplied through schools/colleges located
within the states of Karnataka in which the students are studying 2nd PUC or 12th
standard examination upon submission of Demand Draft for Rs. 650/- to the Principals
in advance, drawn in favour of, "The Executive Director, Karnataka Examination Authority,
Bangalore", payable at Bangalore and
500/- for the students belonging to Schedule castes and Schedule tribes. During
filling up the Application Form the Candidate can select the centre of exam among
the 50 centres available. And the list is as follows.

Exam Pattern
The common entrance test Karnataka CET - KCET
will be held in two days. On the first day test will be conducted on Biology and
on the next day the test will be conducted on Physics and Chemistry subjects in
two sessions as per the date and timing given. Each Paper will be conducted for
60 marks each with 80 minutes duration. Each paper will be of (objective) multiple
choice type. The question paper in each subject will be in 16 different versions
and each question will have four different options. Each question will carry ONE
MARK. And there will be no negative mark for wrong answer.
