Students have to complete process by July 28; academic session begins on August
8
Admissions for standard XI in 160 junior colleges in Pune
and Pimpri-Chinchwad will take place for three days from Tuesday, 26tj July 2011.
The merit list has been declared by the standard XI centralised admission process
(CAP) committee.
It declared the merit list for 46,565 seats on Monday evening in various junior
colleges and has uploaded the comprehensive list on its websites,
www.dydepune.com.
The colleges will begin their academic year from August 8.
Addressing reporters on Monday, deputy director of education, Sunil Magar said all
students who had applied for admissions have been allotted seats in the three streams
of arts, commerce and science in different colleges.
"The students should complete the admission process by July 28," he added.
On July 28, the CAP committee will take stock of the vacant seats in the colleges
to prepare and declare the first waiting merit list for admissions on July 29 and
30. Admissions based on the second waiting merit list (to be declared on July 30)
will be done on August 1 and 2.
Again on August 3, the CAP committee will take stock of stream-wise and medium-wise
vacant seats in colleges to allot them to 'allowed to keep term' students, and admissions
will be conducted from August 4 to 6.
The admissions for the bifocal stream were done between July 15 and 20 through table
system for 4,875 seats. Out of the total 46,565 applications, as many as 24,721
boys and 21,824 girls secured admission in junior colleges.
More than 16,000 seats remained vacant, out of which many will be filled with management
and other quotas.
On the extra demand for science seats, Magar said, "There have been many cases of
overlap because many students have filled forms for diploma and courses in information
technology. There is no need to worry about admissions. If needed extra divisions
will be allotted to the colleges on non-grant basis."
