Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee or IIT Roorkee formerly known as University
of Roorkee was established in 1847. It was given university status in the year 1949.
In 2001, it was converted into IIT, thus becoming the 7th Indian Institute of Technology
in India.
IIT Roorkee offers academic programs in Engineering, Technology, Applied Sciences
