Unavailability of official text books, reliance on tuitions and absence study material
were some of the reasons that prompted to come up with the online question bank.
Are you a II PUC student or aspiring to write CET 2012
and still wondering if you have studied the right textbook If yes, the department
of pre-university education has come to your rescue. The department has come up
with a set of online question banks for all subjects. Solutions have also been provided
with the questions. The question banks and solutions are available on websites of
the department of PU education and the Karnataka Examinations Authority -
kea.kar.nic.in and
pue.kar.nic.in, even scanned answer scripts of last year’s II PUC and CET toppers
in various subjects too are available too.
“The question banks will end ambiguity
on whether she/he has gone through the right textbook. It can be called a mock test
of sorts”, said Rashmi V, director of department of PU education. We have designed
the questions to test student’s strength. We have 2.5 lakh odd students with History
and Political Science combination, the next comes English. Extra care has been taken
while framing the question bank for English as pass percentage in the subject is
not very high. This is because most students who appear for the exam are from Kannada
medium. “Over 90% of the syllabus has been covered in each subject”, Rashmi said.
“Unavailability of official text books, excessive reliance on tuitions and absence
of effective study material were some of the reasons that prompted the department
to come up with the online question bank”, she explained.

Question banks and solutions are available on websites of the department of PU education
and the Karnataka Examinations Authority,

pue.kar.nic.in.
What subjects?
Question banks are available for II PU subjects English, History, Political
Science, Accountancy, Economics, Commerce, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.
Similarly, CET question banks are available for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and
Mathematics. The department hasn't incorporated subjects like Kannada and Computer
Science as the number of students who have opted for these subjects is minimal.
