OPENMAT MBA Entrance Test, Eligibility, Exam Dates and Other Details
IGNOU OPENMAT - Overview:
Indira Gandhi National Open University provides Distance Learning Courses in Management
(MBA) which are the most preferred courses because of its popularity among the students.
IGNOU Offers
MBA course, where you can study a wide range of topics in Management studies.
The IGNOU MBA Course will prepare students for productive careers in Management
and Business Studies. Admission to Management Program is done through
IGNOU OPENMAT 2012 Entrance test; there is chance for applicants to face
it twice in a year.
Courses Offered:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA).
- Diploma in Management (DIM).
- Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDIM).
- Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM).
- Post-Graduate Diploma in Financial Management (PGDFM).
- Post-Graduate Diploma in Operations Management (PGDOM).
- Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management (PGDMM).
IGNOU OPENMAT 2012 Eligibility:
- Graduation in any discipline with 50% marks for general Category and 45% for Reserved
Category OR Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of supervisory/ managerial/ professional
experience OR Professional Degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Medicine/ Architecture/
Law/ Pharmacy OR Professional Qualifications in Accountancy/ Cost and Works Accountancy/
Company Secretary ship etc OR Master’s Degree in any subject.
- Clearance of OPENMAT conducted by IGNOU.
- Candidates who have successfully cleared the Entrance Test for admission into Management
Programme conducted by the Institutions like CAT entrance exam and Management Aptitude Test (MAT), also State Level Tests
need not appear in OPENMAT. The cut-off percentage for admission of these candidates
will be decided by the university.
- 10+2 with 6 years of supervisory/ managerial/ professional experience are eligible
for taking admission in Diploma in Management (DIM) only (after clearing the Entrance
Test).
- Master’s degree awarded without a first degree is not recognized for purposes of
admission to IGNOU’s academic programmes.
How to Apply for IGNOU OPENMAT 2012 Entrance Test?
Application Procedure for Mumbai Business School:
- Admission is open only to candidates residing in India.
- Enclose Demand Draft for fee of programme @
1000/- per course. Please ensure that you have written your name, programme code
and address on the back of the demand draft.
- The fee can be paid by way of Demand Draft drawn in the name of IGNOU and payable
at the city where your Regional Centre is located.

Selection Process:
- Admission to the MBA, Diploma in Management, PGDIM and Post Graduate Diploma in
HRM, FM, OM, and MM, will be done on the basis of the score obtained in the IGNOU
OPENMAT 2012, conducted all over India twice a year as per above schedule.
- The candidates who have successfully cleared the entrance test for admission into
Management Programme, like CAT, MAT and State level tests need not appear in OPENMAT.
The cut-off percentage for admission of these candidates will be decided by the
university.
Validity of IGNOU OPENMAT 2012 Score:
Candidates who have qualified for admission on the basis of the score obtained in
OPENMAT MBA entrance test will be eligible to
take admission into Management Programme in any of the following two semesters.
Therefore a student who qualifies for admission in February 2012 test, can take
admission either in July 2012 or January 2013 semester. Last date for submission
of application form for admission at the concerned Regional alongwith Result Card,
Identity Card and other relevant documents. – 31st May, 2012 & 30th November, 2012.
