A Major Education and Career Hub, Andhra Pradesh continues to attract aspirants
from all over the nation
Recently, a 21-year-old student from NIT Warangal landed
a job with Facebook at a whopping 45-lakh annual package! While getting
lucrative job offers is the norm for students from established educational institutions
in the state, this particular offer set a new benchmark. In the past few decades,
Andhra Pradesh has emerged as a preferred education hub for students seeking rewarding
careers be it in management, engineering, technology, media, law, medicine fine
arts, fashion and more.
There are several B-schools and management education colleges in the state that
offer a range of business management and administration programmes at the graduate
and post graduate level. Even for these with an entrepreneurial streak, the state
offers a fertile soil for original ideas.
From the Hyderabad Central University, the Indian School of Business (ISB), the
English & Foreign Languages Institute (EFLU), the International Institute of Information
Technology (IIIT), the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad (JNTU-H)
to NALSAR, to name a few the state is home to reputed educational institutions that
provide state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities, experienced faculty and up-to-date
curricula. Institutes in the state are increasingly tying up with reputed foreign
educational institutions to offer an international, and often, 'seamless' curriculum
with an option to transfer to the foreign university to complete the course. The
state also has reputed coaching institutes that help students prepare for competitive
exams in public service, management, engineering, medicine and so on.
The quality of higher education, more so, in technical and professional streams
has given employers the confidence of finding the right talent in the state. Referring
to the state capital, Ajit Rangnekar, Dean, Indian School of Business, says, "It
takes more than just physical facilities to make a city attractive as a Higher Education
hub. Faculty are the backbone of Higher Education Institutions, and a city must
offer excellent living, educational and socialising opportunities. I have become
a passionate Hyderabadi because of the wonderful warmth and support everyone in
the city, not just the Government, have shown to ISB. I cannot think of any other
city that has done more for an Institution than Hyderabad has for ISB." Aspirants
from other parts of the country come to the state to pursue higher education. Another
factor at play is the close proximity of business houses and educational institutions.
The proactive government measures and supportive environment has made Andhra Pradesh
one of the biggest education and career hubs of India.
