Following the industries demand to start a course in ceramic engineering, which
help as troubleshooter for industries.
With an aim to breathe life and energy into the ceramic
industry concentrated in Morbi and Surendranagar, Gujarat Technological University
(GTU) will introduce a course in ceramic engineering in its colleges in and around
the same areas. GTU took the decision after representatives from the ceramic industries
approached the varsity for help in solving their technical issues. The representatives
told GTU officials that once flourishing ceramic industry of Gujarat is now facing
grave issues. At GTU, we have scope for interdisciplinary subject where we allow
colleges to model a subject that suits their need. “Following the industries demand,
we have advised the principals of colleges at Morbi and Surendranagar to start a
course in ceramic engineering”, said GTU vice-chancellor Akshai Aggarwal. The solution
for the industries will emerge through GTU's sectoral innovation council which will
help as troubleshooter for industries.
