GTU has set up MBA skills councils in the areas of financial services, human resources
and marketing management
Gujarat Technological University (GTU) held its first meeting
of the MBA skill development councils at Shri Jairam bhai Patel Institute of Business
Management and Computer Applications at Gandhi Nagar on June 25.
In a new initiative, GTU has set up MBA skills councils in the areas of financial
services, human resources and marketing management. The skill councils have been
set up to improve the innovation and application of skills and knowledge of the
management students.
While the purpose of the meeting was to give a boost to these skills development
councils, it was taken part by 32 top notch professionals from industries and 23
professors. Many directors from various management institutes of Gujarat were present
in the meeting.
Vice-Chancellor of GTU Akshai Aggarwal said the councils will also help students
get into immersion programmes in various areas. He said, as the state is developing,
the need for knowledge workers is also increasing. Thus GIFT city would require
as many as 60,000 knowledge workers.
