Students have many issues with the varsity and are demanding a speedy resolution.
Students of colleges affiliated with the Gujarat Technological
University (GTU) went on a one-day strike and held a protest rally at the LD Engineering
College campus on Tuesday 17th Jan. The students have many issues with the varsity
and are demanding a speedy resolution. This includes GTU grading system CPI, which
students allege is unjust and want reviewed. Also they complained that mark sheets
are not issued on time. The delay interferes with job and university applications.
Interestingly, students said there is a lack of job opportunities as their qualification
is considered inferior after GTU made practical exams optional. Coordinator of GTU
Students Union, Ravi Aahir, said GTU authorities should resolve their long pending
issues at the earliest or the students will go on strike again.
