Candidates have to report to their allotted institution latest by July 29
The state directorate of medical education and research (DMER)
released on Tuesday the first list of seat allotment for medical and dental degree
courses in the state.
Candidates have to report to their allotted institution latest by July 29 to confirm
their admission, a notification issued by the directorate stated. Those candidates
who wish to retain the seat where they have joined can submit the status retention
form to the respective head of the institution by August 8, the notification added.
The DMER had to postpone the release of the first allotment list by a day after
a recent Bombay high court order. The order asked the directorate to extend the
same concessions to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates as are being extended to
other reserved category candidates in matters like submission of the preference
forms.
A special session had to be organised at Mumbai’s Grant medical college on July
18 to enable the ST candidates to furnish their preference forms.
The DMER notification stated, in the first round of the selection process, only
those colleges are included which are permitted by the Maharashtra University of
Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, and the respective central councils till July 15
for the academic year 2011-2012. Remaining health science colleges will be included
in the next round of selection process subject to permission by the MUHS, Nashik,
and respective central councils, the notification added.
