The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education
Board (GSHSEB) on 6th Monday rectified a major error in the Gujarat Common Entrance
Test (GUJCET) pre-list which would have proved to be a recipe for complete disaster
if gone unnoticed. The subject of 25,000, odd students of class XII (science) who
have taken B group and would be appearing in the entrance test for biology were
listed as set to be appearing for math exams.
This gross error was noticed by authorities
of different schools in the pre-list of GUJCET declared by the GSHSEB on its website
on 4th Saturday. Principal of C. N. Vidyalaya, Hitesh Trivedi, said that “the error
was spotted on the website and the mistake pointed out to the GSHSEB authorities.
This would have created major confusion as the B group students would have been
served a paper of mathematics instead of biology for the entrance test”. GSHSEB
officials owned the mistake and said that “the error had been accepted and rectified”.
We acknowledged that “the mistake had been made in feeding in the subject of a number
of students and was rectified in time”, said chairman of GSHSEB R. R. Varsani.
