The State government has initiated a new progamme on
Doordarshan, called Vikasana, to enable second PU students to face their examination
as well as the Common Entrance Test, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Vishweshwara
Hegde Kageri said here on Thursday 26th, Jan.
Addressing a press conference, he
said that “the programme will be telecast on Doordarshan in two phases and will
be handled by experienced teachers. The first phase will comprise programmes on
PUC examination and the second phase on CET exam. The first phase programme will
begin on January 30 and continue till March 11, while the second phase will begin
on March 30 and end on April 30. Arts and commerce subjects will be telecast from
7 am to 7.40 am and science subjects from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm”. Students can send
their questions by e-mail and get their answers.
The e-mail ID will be given to
colleges. Kageri said that “the aim of this programme is to instill confidence in
students to face the exams”. He said that he would discuss with Energy Minister
Shobha Karandlaje on the issue of not resorting to load shedding at the time of
the telecast. He said cable operators would be directed to telecast Doordarshan
channel in the prime band. All technical snags in this connection will be set right,
he added.
