Courses such as MA (English and communication), M.Ed and Master of Mass Communication
(MMC) will start on Friday
Following the AICTE's revision of student intake in all courses
offered by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IP University), the university
has decided to start the second round of counselling from Friday.
Courses such as MA (English and communication), M.Ed and Master of Mass Communication
(MMC) will start on Friday, while a date for other courses, such as M.Sc (Bio-diversity
and Conservation), M.Sc (Environment Management) are yet to be announced.
While the first round of counselling for MBA, MCA, MCA (SE) and B.Tech has been
going on, the B.Architecture programme will begin on Friday and that for B.Pharma
will begin on July 31.
"The AICTE has cleared the intake for all the courses in the university and now
we will start the counselling rounds for all the courses," said Nalini Ranjan, media
coordinator, GGSIPU.
The university had set July 25, as the last date to withdraw the admission, following
which 400 seats were left vacant in BBA, 214 in B.Ed, 74 in LLB and 105 in BCA.
"Other than the seats that have already been left vacant due to withdrawal, there
are some seats left under the reserved categories as well which will be converted
into general category. So aspirants have a good chance in second counselling too.
It must however, be noted that students will have no chance to withdraw after admission
in second counselling," added Ranjan.
