Counselling at Sola, Gotri medical colleges tomorrow
The Gujarat Medical and Research Education Society (GMERS)
NRI Admission Committee has scheduled counselling for NRI dependant category candidates
on September 7 from 10:30 am at Sola Medical College. Around 173 candidates have
made it to the common merit list for GMERS Medical College Sola in Ahmedabad and
GMERS Medical College Gotri, Vadodara.
The committee had postponed the counselling on September 2 after one of the candidates,
Vaibhav Trivedi, filed a petition in the High Court of Gujarat demanding appropriate
implementation of admission rules in NRI dependant category. But on Monday, he withdrew
the case. The petitioner had sought proper directions and instruction to produce
and verify proof of income of the parents of students seeking admission under the
same category.
Dr R Dixit, NRI admission committee chairman said, The admission counselling (of
NRI dependant category) will be held on September 7 and we have informed the candidates
through SMSes and our official websites. The petitioner has withdrawn his case.
Both medical colleges have an intake capacity of 150 seats each. Out of
the total 300 seats, 46 seats (23 in each of the two colleges) have been reserved
for NRI students.
