19 colleges recruit more staff to avoid action
The Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has said that
the 19 colleges offering ME and MPharm courses which were given notices over inadequate
staff have furnished the fresh staff profiles. Interestingly, nearly 70 per cent
of the fresh staff recruited is from south India, GTU officials said.
The officials said that they are not ruling out the possibility of colleges making
temporary recruitments just to avoid cancellation of their affiliation and hence
they have sent directives that the GTU shall carry out routine checks.
If the staff members shown on the rolls of the colleges are found to be teaching
there, the GTU will transfer the students to other colleges.
This strict directive has been issued because GTU officials are skeptical
that the staff from outside the state might have been hired on temporary basis just
to avoid being put on the No-Admission List (NAL) by the GTU.
