meet organised by the PMC where they explained the guidelines to us and informed
how the committee must be constituted. we are in the process of forming the committee
and have already raised this point in the PTA meeting. In a months time, the committee
will be in place.
The Bishops School, Kalyaninagar, said that the school bus transport issues are
handled by a committee within the school. We have a separate team that looks into
the transport matters and we have made sure that buses comply with the school bus
regulations. However, the committee as mentioned in the guidelines has not been
formulated. We have a designated staff that looks into the matter, headmaster Ferdinand
Bunyan said.
Dayanand Anglo Vedic Public School principal Jayshree Venkatraman said, Issues of
school bus and its safety is looked after by the PTA members in coordination with
the schools officials. We know that the committee needs to be formed under the Act
and we will soon incorporate it as per the guidelines.
Jnana Prabodhini Prashalas Milind Naik said, we do not run the contract bus system
in school as we do not want to take this responsibility of ferrying students to
school. We have left it to the parents to contract buses and auto rickshaws to ferry
children. We did receive the guidelines from the PMC education board but we do not
have contracted any bus operator so we did not feel the need to form the committee.
The Rosary Scool, Vimannagar has decided to compile a list of school bus
and auto rickshaw drivers ferrying students to their school. According to Balan,
the schools senior administrator, parents have been requested to submit the name
and contact numbers of the person ferrying their child to school as early as possible
to facilitate the process.
