GIFT shortlists six students
Day one of CEPT University placements began on a promising
note with Gujarat International Finance Tech City (GIFT) short listing six students
from various faculties. A
70,000 crore state of the art project, GIFT that has put its work on a fast track
has selected students from Urban Transport, Infrastructure Planning, Landscape and
Urban Designing. Other recruiters have kept two candidates in waiting list. The
placement that began on 1st February, Wednesday will continue till February 10. Confirming
the news, a highly placed source in CEPT said, GIFT has shortlisted our six students.
The company is yet to decide if they want more candidates. As many as 30 firms,
including MNCs such as CRISIL, ATTKINS Global, Egies, Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL),
ICRA IMaCs, Liases, Unity Infrastructure, Water Sanitation Performance Assessment
(PAS), have been participating in the placement process. “JLL and ACP Design’s;
have planned to visit the campus on February 3rd. Swedish firm Liases will come
calling on February 4th”, said the source.
Online Recruitment:
The University has set up an online recruitment system for the companies that have
shown interest in the placement. The university has specially developed the system
following the demand of firms that wanted to conduct recruitment interviews online
to save time and other resources. Taking the advantage of the newly introduced system,
ATTKINS Global has decided to conduct an online test for candidates on February
5th. After the test, the company officials will visit the campus for further rounds
of test.
Special Session:
CEPT has conducted a special session for its students and advised them to not take
decision in a hurry. This is aimed at reducing attrition ratio. Students have been
given time to decide if they want to join the firm. The appointment letters will
be given only once students make their mind to join.
