Online School Sanitation Ratings have been instituted with the purpose of recognizing
those schools which are taking significant steps towards effective sanitation
Now, New Delhi schools will be rated and awarded for the
sanitation they maintain. CBSE has asked its affiliated schools to promote good
sanitation habits among children as part of the National School Sanitation Initiative
launched by the ministries of human resource development and urban development.
Schools will have to work on issues like improving sanitation facilities for the
girl child, organize health and wellness clubs, creating facilities for waste management
and disposal, water conservation and creation of green spaces.
These efforts
will then be considered by the Board to rate the performance of schools and award
winner certificates of excellence, mementos and citations. Online School Sanitation
Ratings have been instituted with the purpose of recognizing those schools which
are taking significant steps towards effective sanitation. The ratings are expected
to infuse the required dynamism in schools towards sanitation management, CBSE Chairperson
Vineet Joshi said in a circular issued on June 29.
