The CBSE students are desperately expecting their original mark sheets to arrive
on time, lest they are forced to lose a year
In pune with the centralised admission process (CAP) date
fast approaching, the CBSE standard X students are nervous a lot. They
do not know when they will get their original mark sheets a prerequisite for admission
to first year junior colleges (FYJCs) affiliated to the state board.
While the ICSE students have already received the original mark sheets, their SSC
counterparts are scheduled to get the same on June 27, a day ahead of the admission
process. The admission forms for FYJCs will be available June 28 onwards and the
last date for submission is July 7.
The CAP committee has made it clear that only original mark sheets will be accepted
with applications for admission.
The CBSE declared the results online on May 31, and had promised to issue the mark
sheets within 10 days. Twenty-two days have passed since the std X results were
announced and we are yet to receive the mark sheets. We enquired about it in the
school, but the principal said the mark sheets are yet to arrive. We don't know
what to do now, a worried parent told TOI on Wednesday 22nd June.
The CBSE students are desperately expecting their original mark sheets to arrive
on time, lest they are forced to lose a year. The reason: Classes at the CBSE junior
colleges have already started and admissions have been closed. If the mark sheets
do not arrive on time, my daughter will lose a year despite scoring well. It is
for the first time that the CBSE has delayed issuing mark sheets, the parent of
a student who studies in DAV Public school said.
Vineet Joshi, chairman of CBSE, said, we are issuing the mark sheets and certificates
together this year, which has caused the delay. We have dispatched the same to all
the regions. The same will now be sent to schools. We will see to it that they reach
the schools in Maharashtra at the earliest.
