Std. Xth School Exam Same As Boards: CBSE
For the first time, the CBSE has said that the Std. Xth School
based and board based exams are equivalent. This statement could well
provide the final and immediate solution to the CBSE Maharashtra government standoff
over the refusal to admit the central board’s school based examinees to junior colleges.
CBSE Board Chairman Vineet Joshi, said, If the Maharashtra government contacts me,
then I will immediately write a letter to them clarifying the issue.
He went on to add that all the developments on the Maharashtra-CBSE fiasco are coming
to him via the media only and the state has not communicated anything to him since
he sent a letter last week. The letter mentions that the passing percentage of students
who have taken the school exam and the board exam is almost the same.
Joshi's statement was welcomed by school principals in the city, who have been at
the receiving end of parents' wrath ever since the state refused admission to school-based
examinees.
Neeru Kapai, founder principal of Modern School, said, this is a very positive news.
We wholeheartedly welcome it. I am really convinced that we should make this official
and then everything will be resolved. Both the exam should be treated at par.
