Berton Craig Monteiro, a medical graduate from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, stood second in the medical stream. Monteiro also secured ninth rank in the Comed-K PGET.
Berton is the son of Harold Monteiro who runs a medical store, and Gladys Monteiro, a banker. Berton said he solved many previous years’ question papers. “I just referred the textbooks,” Berton told Deccan Herald . He has also appeared for the PGET conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). He aims to pursue MS (Orthopaedics) at the Bangalore Medical College.
Meenakshi B.AMeenakshi B.A., who secured ninth rank in the medical stream of the RGUHS PGET and fifth in the ComedK PGET, owes her success to the rigorous academic training she underwent at her alma mater, St John’s Medical College, Bangalore. She hails from Palakkad, Kerala, but did her schooling in the City. She began preparing for the PGET seven months ago after finishing the internship. She attended a coaching centre at Kottayam, Kerala, where she honed her basics. Her success mantra was solving previous years’ question papers and focusing on the basics. She aims to study MD (medicine) at BMC.
