When the CBSE introduced the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) in its strengthened form during the 2009-10 academic session, there was a need felt for proper monitoring. The board then introduced the Mentoring and Monitoring system, where school principals will voluntarily guide newer schools in CCE implementation.
The CBSE has now taken the entire collaboration system online which will make it easier for both mentor and mentee schools to complete the process. A special section for mentoring has been started on the web site (www.cbseacademic.in) with all manuals, contact IDs, circulars and collaboration details. Also, the board has changed the format of online report which is to be sent to CBSE. The board has claimed that the new format has been made more objective and analytical in character. The circular says 'this would enable quality monitoring and effective implementation of CCE in the affiliated schools and help in identifying resourceful and competent mentors'. The analysis is important since the outcome of these reports shall be one of the criteria for the CBSE Mentor Award selection process.
