Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GCET) for admissions to MBA and MCA courses will be conducted from June 14 to 20. The first test will be conducted on June 14 in three sessions during the day. The second test will be held from June 18 to 20.Students will have a choice to appear in both tests and the highest marks among the two will be considered. Online forms for the test can be submitted from June 1 to 11, official sources said. The forms will also be available at Punjab National Bank for Rupee 1,000 per form.
Students will have to fill up the examination centre, the test they want to take, preferred session time and other details. They will receive the hall ticket online after submitting the forms. Last year, there were 13,465 seats in MBA of which 5,456 seats remained vacant. In MCA courses, there were 5,950 seats of which 1,145 seats remained vacant. This year, the admissions will be done for 13,125 seats in 128 MBA colleges and 6,430 seats in MCA colleges. Last year, 22,000 students appeared for GCET. Despite this, there were no takers for thousands of seats. Poor placement and faculty crunch are likely to result in many seats remaining vacant this year too.
