While colleges will be declaring their first merit list on 20 June, Monday, despite the low passing percentage, top colleges are pegging their cut-offs in the 90s and 80s range for professional courses.
Although the pass percentage of HSC dipped by nearly 6% this year, experts warn that cut-offs for popular professional courses such as BMS, BMM and B.Sc IT are expected to rise by at least 2%. KPB Hinduja College has received 3,500 applications for only 60 seats in Bachelors of Management Studies (BMS), and around 90 seats in Bachelors of Accounting and Finance. Vaze College of Commerce, in Mulund has received over 1,300 applications for Bachelors of Science with Biotechnology and nearly double the number for Information Technology.
