Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) have approved eight new secondary schools in the state. Board officials said that of “the eight schools, four are in Ahmedabad, two in Kankrej and one each in Deesa and Anand”. Officials said “the four schools granted in Ahmedabad are in Vatva, Ghatlodiya, Daskroi and Sanand”.
Self-financed Institutions discuss quota for non-Gujaratis: The Self Financed Management Association representatives held a meeting with the technical education department recently where they said that five per cent seats to be reserved for out-state students be fixed in the management quota. Colleges which have not been able to attract lot of students in the general admissions aim to benefit from this decision. Officials of Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) said that they have told the managements that if 50 per cent self financed managements decided to reserve seats in management quota, then they will form the rules accordingly.
