Over 1.12 lakh HSC (science) students will appear for Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) on Thursday, 5th April. The entrance test carries 40 per cent weightage in the final merit result on the basis of which admissions will be granted. Officials said that GUJCET exam will be held in 27 centers identified in districts all across the state.
Exams will be conducted in 469 centers which have been identified as centers with lowest number of copying cases. Of the students who will appear for GUJCET, 76,489 students are from A group, 35,012 from B group and 1,472 from AB group. The first paper will be of Chemistry and Physics from 11 am -12 pm. The second paper will be of Biology while the third paper will be of Math. The students will write all the tests in a single day. The test will be multiple choice questions (MCQ) and be assessed with Optical Mark Reader (OMR).Two supervisors will remain present in each class to check copying. Each class will have 20 students and five sets of papers will be distributed to check mass copying. A class I officer will be appointed as observer at each center. Video graphy is mandatory at all the centers. Officials said that all these measures have been taken to check mass copying which is easy in MCQ papers.
