Students of the H. B. Kapadia New High School had a fun-filled learning during their 11 day long stay at Australia. The group visited some important sightseeing places including Brisbane, Gold coast & Parliament house at Sydney.
Dignity of labour:During my tour, I visited Alexandria Park Community School, attended a lecture in a class and found their curriculum easy. There were 15 students in one division and they used to have four lectures a day of one hour duration each with two recesses. The students are given weekly tests which are checked online. In that country, whenever a person enters a door, he checks to see whether there is somebody behind him, if so he holds the door to allow the person to enter. This incidence has inspired me a lot and I will follow the same in my life. Another trend that I admire is that even the strangers are addressed with Good Morning or Good Evening etc. They believe in dignity of labour. I found a restaurant manager washing the bathroom and sharing the lunch table with a sweeper.
Watched live match:We all enjoyed our visit to parliament house, Gold Coast Beach, Sydney cricket ground during the tour. We even went to watch one day international cricket match between India and Australia. We got an opportunity to see Indian players like Virat Kohli, Rahul Sharma & Umesh Yadav. It was an unforgettable moment to get their autographs. Before going to watch cricket match, we had prepared some banners which were highlighted on T.V We were extremely happy to see the legendary players. We also got a chance to see the dressing room of the players. Overall, the tour was an exciting experience.
Many new friends:The most important part of the tour was the visit to Alexandria Park Community School. The students of the school were very friendly and we made a lot of friends. We enjoyed playing and studying with those students and it was a new experience for us. I felt a little hurt to find that these children do not have much respect for elders and teacher although I feel proud that I am in a school and a country where we respect the elders and teachers.
