Sibal writes to all SSC pass outs

Students of the Central Board of Secondary Certificate (CBSC) schools in the city who cleared SSC board exams last year were surprised to get customized letters addressed to them from none other than Union HRD minister Kapil Sibal for clearing the SSC exams under the new Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) scheme.

Sibal writes to all SSC pass outs

You are special to the country as you belong to the first batch that completed class X under the new Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) scheme. You have made the entire country proud. I can say with certainty that the future of India is safe because of bright sparks like you, says the letter which is addressed to each student by their name. For the first time, SSC students received a letter personally from the Union HRD minister. It was a big surprise for students, said Manan Choksi of Udgam School.

The letter also has Sibal telling the students never to think of leaving studies. Never ever think of leaving studies even if your parents are unable to afford your fee. In that situation, please do not hesitate to write to me, says Sibal in the letter. “While the intention of preventing poor students from dropping out of school due to lack of fee may be good, the letter has come rather late in the day. The letter has come a year late to prevent students from dropping out due to lack of fee”, said a school principal.
