The Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) on Wednesday, 18th July, 2012 granted admission to 942 students. A total 1,053 students were called for admission. As compared to last year, the merit this year is up by two to three marks. So far, admissions in the open category of all the government medical colleges except for Bhavnagar Medical College have been completed. City-based B.J. Medical Colleges reported the highest merit where admissions were closed at 91.98 per cent.
Students till merit number 122 have been given admission here. In Vadodara, the merit cut off for admissions was 89.40 per cent and students till 274 merit numbers were granted admission. In Surat, admissions closed at 87.85 per cent as compared to 86.88 per cent in Rajkot. In Jamnagar, Medical College, the last seat was given to a student with 86.67 per cent marks. There are 27 seats vacant in Bhavnagar medical college currently. On Thursday, 19th July 2012, 1,100 students have been called for admission where students who rank between 504 and 1,161 shall try their luck in the open category.
