Easy paper, conquer from fears

For class 10 students of state board it was a momentous day as they appeared for their first board examination on 6th March, Tuesday. Overall, 9, 26, 483 class 10 students appeared for their first language (Gujarati and English) paper in the state. To their relief, students found the exam easy. Gujarati medium students found essays on Women empowerment and inflation particularly scoring. Class 12 students of Arts discipline also gave their first paper of Philosophy. Class 10 Gujarati medium students were joyous to get an easy paper on the first day of their examinations. Rajan Mehta of Sadhana Vidyamandir said; This was an absolutely easy paper. I am expecting great marks.

Definitely beyond 85 marks. Another student of Sheth C.N. Vidyalaya, Manan Panchal said, I am amazed! I thought the paper would be tough. But it was so easy. I am expecting at least 88 marks. Even the teachers are ecstatic. The paper was very easy and most questions were from the syllabus. Students were very happy and relaxed after giving the examination, said Akshay Mehta, principal of Vidyasagar school. However, he added, In part-I of the paper, all the four options given for MCQ 46 was wrong. Even the English medium students were not disappointed. Amit Chutani of D.L. Raval School said; The paper was really easy. People who have studied well would not have faced any trouble. Nothing was asked out of the way our out of syllabus.

Another student Bansari Parikh of Somlalit School said; The essays asked were wonderful. It is a good start to the board examinations. Aditya Verma of Somlalit School said, Even average students could write the exam well. It was a well-balanced paper. I am expecting good marks. English Teacher at St Xaviers Loyola School Jyoti Desai, too, gave the paper set by the board a thumbs up. She said, The paper was great, especially the MCQs and writing skill section. However, the board erred in the second option of direct/ indirect question. Addressing the issue of errors in question paper, Board Chairman R.R. Varsani said, We can’t comment on this issue till the boards expert committee analyses the paper. At present students should concentrate on their exams.
Copy Cases:
On 6th March Tuesday, five cases of cheating were reported in the state compared to 18 on 5th March, Monday. However, no such case was reported in Ahmedabad. One dummy writer was caught from K.D. Girl's Ashra School in Babhra in Amreli. Has been handed over to cops, 3 cases were reported in Panchmahal and 1 in Porbandar.
