The Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) declared the merit list for National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA). More than 2,200 candidates have been selected for admission to Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) of which 70 per cent are females. Vishal Mangukiya topped the merit list of Gujarat Board students with 60.86 per cent, while in the merit list of CBSE (Gujarat), Chandra bhanu Dval topped with 76.85 per cent. Kabir Sahni scored 84.35 per cent in the merit list for Central Board out of Gujarat. Prof Ashok Motiani, officer on special duty (ACPC), said, this year, girls have bagged the maximum spots on the merit list.
It shows that girls are more inclined towards design and architecture. More than 2200 students have been selected in the three merit lists to fill 980 seats in 15 colleges across Gujarat. The three merit list is for students from Gujarat Board, Central board in the state and Central Board out side the state and Jammu and Kashmir. The colleges also include three grant-in-aid colleges in the state- Department of Architecture, Faculty of Technology & Engineering, M. S. University of Baroda, Faculty of Architecture CEPT University and Institute of Architecture Hemchandra charya North Gujarat University (HNGU) in Patan. The students from other boards shortlisted in the merit lists have been called for counselling on July 13. While students from Gujarat Board have been called on July 14 for the counselling at the city office of ACPC, said Motiani. Mean while, CEPT also declared its merit list to fill 60 seats in Bachelor of Planning, Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech- Civil-Construction) respectively and 40 seats in Bachelor of Interior Design (BID). A total of 1,275 students have been selected on the merit list. All selected candidates have been called for counselling on July 14 to be held on the varsity campus.
