Gujarat University has decided to give grace marks to students in the first semester of first year in arts, science and commerce undergraduate courses. The decision was taken in view of discrepancies and anomaly found in question papers during ongoing examinations. The university had to cancel an examination of Gujarati, while another exam of history and Indian culture was delayed by about two hours recently. Vice-Chancellor Parimal Trivedi said confusion among paper-setters about the new pattern led to some anomalies. Around 32,000 students are appearing for the first semester examinations all over the state.
