Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management, Pune (VAMNICOM) recently organised a three-day training programme on ‘Documentation in Marketing of Sugar and By-Products & Role of Information and Communication Technology in Online Marketing & Export’. In his key note address, Shivajirao Deshmukh, former director of the Vasantdada Sugar Institute stressed that besides establishment of a separate marketing cell, the sugar cooperatives need to adopt information and communication technology and deployment of interactive web site for global presence.

Around 19 officials including managing directors, office superintendent, IT officers, representing various cooperative in Maharashtra and Karnataka participated in the programme. It covered topics on documentation requirements for marketing of sugar at domestic and international level, awareness on legal aspects applicable to sugar cooperatives and role of information technology (IT) including web-technology for marketing information system.

Scholarship scheme for accountancy qualification:
The Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales (ICAEW) has announced an exclusive scholarship programme for its internationally-renowned ACA qualification in conjunction with sole training partner Get Through Guides (GTG). The scheme, open to Chartered Accountants qualified with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in India (ICAI), significantly reduces the cost of the required exams. ICAEW’s exclusive scholarship scheme is supported by anchor partners Deloitte, HDFC, Genpact, Mahindra & Mahindra, Grant Thornton, KPMG, PwC and Tata.

It is open to dedicated ICAI Chartered Accountants (CAs) and reduces the cost of the final two exams of ICAEW’s ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant) qualification from over Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 40,000. The scheme to open to both corporate and individuals who are willing to dedicate time to study and learn part-time between July and October in order to take two exams in November and another in July next year. The scholarship holders will undertake part-time training from trainers, Get Through Guides, the official partner of ICAEW and ICAI, and the leading corporate training provider for BFSI across India.
