BITS Pilani Online Admission Test Structure
Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani a leading Institute of

BITSAT 2012 is conducted for admission to various engineering courses
offered by different campus of BITS.

Eligibility Criteria BITSAT 2012:
- For admission to any of the Integrated First Degree Programmes of BITS the candidate
should have passed the 12th class examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central
or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- The candidate should have obtained a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in 12th class examination, at least 60% marks
in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects and adequate proficiency
in English.
How To Apply?
Interested candidates should register their names for BITSAT-2012 by applying in
the prescribed application form online. Complete the application form online at
www.bitsadmission.com
and pay the prescribed fees. Also take the print out of the filled form for your
future reference. If you make payment by Demand draft then a copy of the completed
application form along with the prescribed fees of
1700/- (
1200/- for female candidates) should be sent to Admissions Officer, BITS, Pilani
– 333031. If you are using a payment mode other than DD then the prescribed fee
for BITSAT 2012 is
1600/- (
1100/- for female candidates). If a candidate chooses Dubai as a test center the
application fee for both male and female candidates will be same and will be US
$ 50 (or Indian
2500/-). Details for payment of fees are available at the website while applying
online. Deadline to apply for BITSAT-2012 online along with the fee payment is 15th
February 2012. If you are using DD as the mode of payment then the DD along with
a copy of application form must reach Admissions Office, BITS Pilani by 5.00 PM
on 15th February 2012.
Exam Fees:
The fee payment can be made in one of the following modes:
- Payment by Credit Cards (All credit cards issued by Master and Visa) or Payment
by debit Cards (Debit cards issued by VISA of select banks, namely (Andhra Bank,
Axis Bank, Barclays Bank, Canara Bank, City Union Bank, Corporation Bank, Deutsche
Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, IOB Bank, Kotak bank, Standard Chartered, SBI, Syndicate
bank, Federal Bank, Karur Vysya Bank, GE Money financial services).
- Payment through Net Banking (Allahabad Bank, Axis Bank, Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait,
Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Rajasthan, Corporation Bank, Deutsche Bank,
Dhanlaxmi Bank, Federal Bank, ICICI Bank, Indian Overseas Net banking, Karnataka
Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, South Indian Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Union
Bank of India, Vijaya Bank, Yes Bank).
- By cash payment at all ICICI Bank branches through a challan which is to be printed
from this website while registering.
- Through Demand Draft drawn in favour of BITS, Pilani payable at SBBJ-Pilani (Code:
10398) or UCO Bank-Pilani (Code: 0150) or SBI-Pilani (Code: 11309) or ICICI Bank-Jhunjhunu
(Code: 0799). Pay an additional amount of
100/-along with the Application Fee as processing Fee (i.e.,
1600/- for Male candidates and
1100/- for female candidates). If a candidate chooses Dubai as a test center the
application fee for both male and female candidates will be same and will be US
$ 50 (or Indian
2300/-). Details for payment of fees are available at the website while applying
online.
Those who register for the test and reserve test dates have to download the ‘Hall
ticket’, along with instructions, from BITS website as per the schedule given earlier.
The tests will be conducted during 10th May – 9th June 2012.

All questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions); each question with
choice of four answers, only one being correct choice. Each correct answer fetches
3 marks, while each incorrect answer has a penalty of 1 mark (-1 mark). There is
no time limit for individual parts of the test. The candidate can go back and change
any of his/her answers among the 150 questions.

Syllabus
The syllabus for the BITSAT test will be conducted on the basis of
NCERT syllabus for 11th and 12th class
for the current year.
Challenges faced by the Students
Negative Marking:
Each question with choice of four answers, only one being correct choice. Each correct
answer fetches 3 marks, while each incorrect answer has a penalty of 1 mark. No
marks are awarded for not attempted questions.
